The Lucas-Cranach Prize 2011 has been won by Kiel-based artist René Schoemakers

The award ceremony for the prize will be hosted on 2.7.2011 in the Fränkische Galerie at Festung Rosenberg in the Fürstensaal at 11.00 a.m. in Kronach. The artist won the award for his work amok III (payable light) from 2007. 

A total of more than 500 national and international entries were submitted. A selection of 112 works will be on display at the Fränkische Galerie from 2.7.2011 through to 30.10.2011. 

A catalogue of the exhibition will be published.
